MEMPHIS, Tenn., September 22, 2021 – Leadership Memphis, whose mission is to prepare and mobilize leaders to work together for the good of the whole community, is proud to announce the Executive Program Class of 2022. The diverse group of 52 executives is comprised of experienced leaders across multiple community spectrums, including business, nonprofit, government, education, healthcare, faith, neighborhoods, and professionals.
“We are thrilled to welcome the 2022 Executive Program and are excited to see how this class continues Leadership Memphis’ longstanding history of impacting Memphis in a positive way,” said Reggie Crenshaw, President and CEO of Leadership Memphis and Volunteer Memphis.
Over nine months, Leadership Memphis Executive Program participants are immersed in an intensive experience aimed at building on existing personal and professional leadership skills to develop relationships and networks that drive and accelerate positive change. The program leads participants through monthly learning sessions, increases exposure to high-profile and effective leaders and organizations, and offers expanded engagement with the challenges facing Memphis today and opportunities for the Memphis of tomorrow. Class days will be a hybrid schedule featuring virtual lessons and in-person programming at locations across the city for the first time since 2019.
“We believe the best way to get leaders involved in the community is to take them to the organizations or neighborhoods that need their help the most and let the class experience that for themselves,” added Crenshaw.
Leadership Memphis’ goal is to connect its leaders with information about the developments and challenges facing the city and inspiring the class to work together and move Memphis forward. Class members will also participate in a 40-hour community service schedule over the program that will divide the class into groups that will work on public service projects in Memphis neighborhoods.
Since 1979, Leadership Memphis has continually developed new ways to engage and create more effective community leaders. Its alumni represent a group of local leaders dedicated to understanding the strengths and challenges facing the Mid-South, exploring the importance of collaboration, and demonstrating the collective impact citizens can have on the community.
Leadership Memphis has graduated more than 3,900 leaders through its programs over the last 42 years. Their alumni include executives of Fortune 500 companies, pastors of some of the oldest congregations in the Mid-South, innovators in the nonprofit world, patrons of the arts, and countless small business leaders that are the lifeblood of Memphis.
