Project Manager — Grants

Job Description

The Project Manager will be responsible for organizing/coordinating new specific grant-funded community based human services projects and outreach activities as part of Leadership Memphis. Leadership Memphis is positioning various impact initiatives for Memphis and surrounding communities related to COVID-19 and the hesitancy rate of various communities to become vaccinated. This person will be tasked with implementation of various grant-funded programs to support efforts to reduce vaccine hesitancy. S/he will also be responsible for assisting with the development of budgets and operating plans for these programs, managing program funding and grants, and reporting on same. S/he will be responsible for regular communication to the President and CEO and specific constituent and stakeholder groups to assure success and attainment of program goals and timelines.

Base salary commensurate with experience

Job Responsibilities

  • Organizing and execution of programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization and approved grants.
  • Work closely with various marketing and community outreach approaches which serve to engage target communities for the focus of a project or grant funded activity.
  • Support and develop partnership agreements for engagement in various project activities.
  • Staff various stakeholder meetings to include: advisory committees, steering committees, work groups and appropriate community engagement activities which support the success of the project.
  • Support the execution on various community outreach events to include: health fairs, festivals, and other events which engage community members broadly.
  • Assist in creating required accurate and timely grant status reports and compliance documents throughout its life cycle.
  • Support the President/CEO and Principal Investigator (PI) in the development of program metrics which define the results and impact of the project.
  • Creating and managing short and medium-term goals, defined by the President/CEO and PI.
  • Support the President/CEO and PI in the development of a budget and operating plan for the program.
  • Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Support the President/CEO and PI in the development of stakeholder communication plan with the LM contracted third party marketing team.
  • Create weekly agendas, project timelines, outcome tracking reports, and dashboards which track the progress of the activities under various program activities.
  • Supervise assigned team members or volunteers upon request of the President/CEO.
  • Proactively collaborate with other members of the LM team as needed.
  • Will work closely with the President/CEO and PI to frame opportunities to produce research and publications associated with their project work.

Skills and Qualifications

Basic

  • Four-year degree in a business-related field and 2 years of project or program management experience.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills
  • Proven experience working in a team environment
  • Ability to travel to the geographic area covered by the grants
  • Flexibility to work weekends and after hours as needed

Preferred

  • Prior experience working in a non-profit organization
  • Prior experience in managing grants highly desirable
  • Some general knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
  • Knowledge of rural health issues is a plus
