Chief Operating Officer - Memphis Brooks Museum of Art
The COO of the Brooks, an esteemed 97-year old encyclopedic art museum and mid-South community institution, will oversee the daily operations of the museum, including policies and protocols, vendor relations, insurance and contracts, staff training, human resources, facilities maintenance and capital projects, technology infrastructure, the Brushmark restaurant and catering business, the Brooks museum store, and accordant budgets and revenue goals. Reporting to the museum director as part of the museum’s senior leadership team, the ideal candidate will thrive by serving others through the Brooks’ public service mission, will take pride in the educational and transformative work of the museum, and will be highly flexible and adaptable. Experience in managing during a capital campaign and capital project is desirable. Required qualifications include demonstrated senior project management experience, budgeting expertise, executive business leadership credentials, proven understanding of the nonprofit sector, unwavering integrity, skill in sustaining a healthy learning-centered workplace, and the ability to achieve organizational strength and fiscal balance in a mission-based environment. Senior management, operations, and/or finance experience required (10+ years). Minimum of bachelor's degree with appropriate experience. Graduate degree in applicable field preferred.
