Leadership Memphis Wins NEXUS Leadership Award

The Annual NEXUS Leadership Luncheon with Barrett Jones, NFL player for the St. Louis Rams and former standout football player for the University of Alabama as the keynote speaker took place on February 18. In conjunction with the luncheon the Memphis Mentoring Awards were presented to those deserving recipients. The award winners were chosen due to their leadership and dedication for mentoring and our city by the NEXUS Alumni. Leadership Memphis Board Member, Sandra Walls, and Leadership Memphis Programs Coordinator, Jacqueline Oselen, attended to accept the Outstanding Mentoring Organization / Non-Profit award for Leadership Memphis.

Congratulations to the 2015 Memphis Mentoring Awards Presented by NEXUS:

- Outstanding Mentoring Organization/Non-Profit: Leadership Memphis

- Outstanding Male Mentor: Eddie Foster, Second Presbyterian Church

- Outstanding Female Mentor: JoeAnn Ballard, Neighborhood Christian Centers, Inc. and 2002 Leadership Memphis Executive Program alum

- Outstanding NEXUS Mentor: Miska Clay Bibbs, Green Dot Public Schools and 2013 Leadership Memphis Executive Program alum

 

Founded in 2003, NEXUS continues to cultivate and duplicate principle-centered leaders through monthly mentoring and interactive teaching sessions. Now with over 650 principle-centered leader graduates, NEXUS has created a forum that crosses religious, racial and gender lines based on the common desire to improve not only ourselves but also our city. We continue to be a vehicle for the development and improvement of personal leadership skills as well as a means for participants to build relationships in the Memphis leadership community.
