On November 18, members of the Leadership Memphis Fall FastTrack 2014 program visited the Ronald McDonald House of Memphis to learn how they can mobilize volunteers to give back to families who have children with cancer being treated at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Since opening their doors in 1991, Ronald McDonald House of Memphis has provided a home for more than 7,000 children from nearly every state and 45 countries.
Continually seeking volunteers and donations, the Ronald McDonald House of Memphis' Volunteer and Program Manager, Dee Wilson-Henderson, recently spoke to the Fall FastTrack 2014 class on ways local leaders can prepare meals, activities, and mobilize donation and fundraising events for the house.
After the class, Ryan Anderson, Scott Barnes, Kaylee Carman, Tripp Murray, and Kate Van Namen, were moved to action and visited the house.
At Ronald McDonald House, families are allowed to preserve a sense of normalcy with warm beds, warm meals, and warm hugs from other families fighting the same battle.
